Air Berlin has joined the airline alliance oneworld.

July 27: German low-cost carrier Air Berlin has joined the airline alliance oneworld and has immediately set up codeshare agreements with American Airlines and Finnair, giving passengers access to the American market and, via Helsinki, to Asia.

The codeshare flights will be available in time for the winter schedule 2010/11, and full membership of oneworld should be achieved by 2012.

Air Berlin currently has 116 aircraft in a mixed Airbus and Boeing fleet, and took delivery of its 50th Airbus A320 at the Berlin Airshow in early June.
