An Airbus A321 operated by Pakistan airline airblue has been destroyed in a crash.
July 28: Airbus has confirmed that Airbus A321 AP-BJB operated by Pakistan airline airblue was destroyed when it crashed in the Margalla Hills near Islamabad International Airport earlier today.
According to Aviation Safety News, there were six crew members and 146 passengers on board but the head of Pakistan's civil defence said no-one had survived. The aircraft was operating a scheduled service, Flight ED 202, from Karachi to Islamabad and airblue said the flight crashed “during poor weather and thick fog”.
Airbus says AP-BJB was MSN (Manufacturer Serial Number) 1218, initially delivered from the production line in 2000. The aircraft was leased to airblue in January 2006 and it had accumulated approximately 34,000 flight hours in some 13,500 flights. It is only the second A321 to be lost.
