German national airline Lufthansa has named its second A380 but lost an MD-11.
July 28: German national airline Lufthansa has named its second A380, delivered last week, ‘München’ after the city of Munich. A christening ceremony took place this morning in the Lufthansa maintenance hangar at Munich Airport.
Yesterday a Lufthansa Cargo MD-11F was destroyed when it crashed on landing at Riyadh-King Khaled International Airport in Saudi Arabia, but both crew members fortunately escaped and survived the accident. The aircraft, Flight LH8460, a scheduled cargo service operating from Frankfurt crashed and caught fire while landing on runway 33L/15R.
